A Christian Presence on the High Street

Open Door

Open Door Berkhamsted is a vibrant community space, where there is always something to enjoy.
The donations-only café offers a warm welcome to all with refreshments and friendly conversation. And thanks to the many teachers and artists who share their talents with us, they provide a varied and ever-changing programme to suit most age groups.
As a not-for-profit, they're run almost entirely by volunteers. They rely on income from venue hire, exhibitions, classes, donations, grants and other fundraising to cover their costs.

The Way Inn Trust

The Way Inn started out as a vision from Marnie Taylor in 1987. She knew there was a need for a 'Pastoral Centre' in Berkhamsted. With a listening ear to support the churches in the town and provide for the local people on a day-to-day basis, whether they are young or old and to give them time, care and attention.
In September 1990 after much planning, The Way Inn opened a Christian Centre on Berkhamsted High street. It included a retail space and we partnered up with the Post Office franchise, which provided financial stability for the venture.
Over the years changes have occurred at The Way Inn. The Bookshop / Christian Resource Centre has grown. It still offers Christian literature on a variety of topics including second-hand books. They also sell a wide variety of gifts and stationery and the premises have become a collection and distribution centre for the Dacorum Foodbank.
